Product Photography "Knock-outs"
Sometimes a photo that appears in an ad, a catalog, a website, etc. needs to show just the image, with no background. In graphics parlance, we call this kind of photo a "knock out".
When a client needs a photo to be able to be easily knocked out,
Steve shoots it in the studio where the white "compound cove" wall (with curved wall edges and corners) makes the background disappear. This makes the subsequent Photoshop job of removing the background, much easier.
